In the Catholic Leader in Queensland there was an article on 17th January by Pope Benedict XVI. He said: Having respect for every human being and for all of creation as God's handiwork and having trust in God's overwhelming love are keys to peace and a better future. In his homily during morning mass in St Peter's Basilica on January 1, Pope Benedict said people would respect the environment only to the extent that they respected themselves and others, because true respect for creation meant seeing all creation as reflection of God, the creator. As Franciscans we are called to be leaders in the movement for peace and fore respect for all of creation.
